Handicaps and Asian handicaps are becoming more and more popular these days. Using this form of gambling, you can take virtually any football match (or horse racing, darts, tennis, and rugby and make it more interesting.
It’s certainly one of my favourite methods of betting and hopefully, some of my must-know tips can help you improve your opportunities when it comes to handicap and Asian handicap betting.
- Use Bet365
Before delving into the world of handicap in Asian, it is necessary to find a good online bookmaker which can give you good variety as well as good odds. Bet365 is recommended since it gives you this and so much more. You will find not only great odds for ordinary handicap but also a huge variety of alternatives which give you the power to select from both long and short odds.
You can create a new account at bet365 and get a 100% match on your first deposit worth up to £200.
- Back the heavy favourites
The best method to make a high profit from your handicap and Asian handicap wagers is to always pick the favourites with a handicap giving them a goal deficit. This way will give you the most favourable odds.
Do not try to be a have-a-go-hero by backing the underdog; handicap and Asian handicap betting is getting behind the big favourites.
- Keep away from low scoring teams
Handicap and Asian handicap bets are all about looking for the teams which make lots of goals whilst conceding barely any. Thus, although I might think a leading team is worth a punt with a handicap since they keep winning, I need to make sure that they are scoring plenty of goals as well as winning. It is no need to putting a -2.0 handicap on a group that has won the last ten matches with a scoreline of 1-0.
- Never choose leaky defences
Remember to stay far away teams with leaky defences. A team might score for a fun week in and week out, but do they have a solid back? Bear in mind that this is not the goals scored market. Handicaps and Asian handicaps are more about choosing the teams that are not conceding goals because they are about those that are scoring goals. As above, there is no point putting a -2.0 handicap on a team whose scoreline is 4-3 despite their last 10 winning games.
- Note a running record of teams which are winning by big margins
So, provided handicap and Asian handicap betting is that you have to find out the squads with big winning margins, how should you do? Well, it is really simple. Wikipedia will provide you full results tables from the previous seasons in most UK leagues as well as how many groups won by a winning margin of +1 goal, +2 goals, etc. Sometimes, I can jot down all the squads that have won their games by a decent margin whilst viewing the scores come in on Final Score.
I personally do like keeping a running record of teams which won by big margins. It is a great method to spot which teams are leading the score and which groups are conceding lots.
- Use Asian handicaps’ insurance to your advantage
You should know that many Asian handicap bets offer some kind of payback insurance if the handicapped result is a tie. Take this as your advantage! It may not give you the best odds, but it brings me that added sense of security especially for matches where I think it could be a cagey, close fought affair. I would prefer to have that added safety net as I’m not 100% confident than to take the leap of faith with a handicap bet at longer odds.
- Use Oddschecker.com
This site is highly recommended for punters. Forget opening hundreds of tabs on your browser to trawl through page after page of fixture lists in the search for some good handicap and Asian handicap odds. Just go to Oddschecker.com, where you can find all of the available odds from the big bookmakers in one packaged table for me to compare. They also show me which odds are the best value, therefore, I can add wagers to my “Bet Basket” to the amount of money each bookmaker will pay out for a stake of £1, £2, £5 or £10.
Hopefully, my 7 great advice can help you improve your handicap and Asian handicap betting fortunes. Good luck to you!
